Secure Remote Access
The newest ZCL gadget, the SPOK, quickly becomes a hot item in all
presentations. SPOK comes in an attractive form of the USB memory stick
that you can attach to your key-ring or to hang it round your neck. The
latest edition, the Biometric SPOK allows for an extra security through
fingerprint recognition of the SPOK user. This should satisfy the most
demanding users of the remote internet access.
SPOK enables you to access your data remotely from anywhere
with an Internet connection. The overriding requirement is one of
security. The best way of ensuring security is to run an SSH (Secure
Shell) tunnel between SPOK and the Zybert GEM in your office.
A
tunnel is a connection, generally encrypted, connecting two computers
together across another unsecured network.
The Z1 GEM firewall can be configured to allow secure remote access for remote/home workers as well as site-to-site secure connection
- SSH (secure shell) - provides secure shell access, file access (SCP,SFTP) with encryption and Public/Private key authentication and allows secure tunneling to provide connections on selected ports
- SSL (WEB server security) - providing authenticated, encrypted access to Intranet services and secure WEBDAV file sharing.
- Port redirection can be configured to provide controlled, secure remote connections to local computers
- WEBMAIL - SSL enabled WEB Mail system operates on a dedicated port, allowing full firewall control
- WEBDAV file sharing system is available for remote, secure access (using Apache SSL)
- SVN file versioning system is installed. The files are stored in a database with full version history - the remote access is provided with an Apache WEBDAV SVN module thus allowing complete folder trees to be 'checked out' to client machines and changes to be 'checked in'. The system allows different tyes of authentification and SSL security
- Windows and MAC integration is provided by Open Source packages
